AN INSTANT #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
AN INSTANT USA TODAY AND INDIE BESTSELLER

Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional wizard, has always managed to save the day—but, in this powerful entry in the #1 New York Times bestselling Dresden Files, can he save himself?

One year. 365 days. Twelve months.

Harry Dresden has been through a lot, and so has his city. After Harry and his allies narrowly managed to save Chicago from being razed to the ground, everything is different—and it’s not just the current lack of electricity.

In the battle, Harry lost people he cared about. And that's the kind of loss that takes a toll. Harry being Harry, he’s doing his level best to help the city and his friends recover and rebuild. But it’s a heavy load, and he needs time.

But time is one thing Harry doesn’t have. Ghouls are prowling Chicago and taking out innocent civilians. Harry’s brother is dying, and Harry doesn’t know how to help him. And last but certainly not least, the Winter Queen of the Fae has allied with the White Court of vampires—and Harry’s been betrothed to the seductive, deadly vampire Lara Raith to seal the deal.

It's been a tough year. More than ever, the city needs Harry Dresden the wizard—but after loss and grief, is there enough left of Harry Dresden the man to rise to the challenge?

Expertly written whether you read or listen to the audio. The rawness to the book definitely made it seem like the time lapse of waiting for this book was non existent. Grief and growth and finding the glass slightly filled was a testament to Butchers gift and talent. Thank you for choosing to share you talent in spite of loss and discouragement. This story will generate healing and the will to fight for many years to come. Unlike anything you’ve read! This is a book to be treasured a re-read. Enjoy

A Dresden story. Love that. This one was a little less consistent than past stories, pacing was just a bit off. Totally worth the read at the same time. Thank you Mr. Butcher for Dresden. I love this character.

This book has always is a fantastic representation of Jim Butcher‘s writing. This is more review of the entire Dresden series. The action is always on point, the emotional content evokes a deep response. Fast paced, and as usual, I can hardly wait for the next one.

It feels like a long time has passed since we had a new Dresden read. But this book was worth the wait. In Twelve Months, we find a very vulnerable Wizard Dresden dealing with loss and PTSD while numerous troubles - mortal and supernatural- continue to pile up, unwilling to wait for him to heal. This book gives us themes of grief, recovery, and the power of friendship (and allies) all wrapped in various supernatural mysteries. It’s a great Dresden Files read and it left me wanting more. I literally cried, cheered, and - most of all - found myself deeply caring for Harry and his crew as they rebuilt from the Battle of Chicago and faced the forces of darkness together. A great read.
