A world at stake. A quest for the ultimate prize. Are you ready?

In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the OASIS, a vast virtual world where most of humanity spends their days.

When the eccentric creator of the OASIS dies, he leaves behind a series of fiendish puzzles, based on his obsession with the pop culture of decades past. Whoever is first to solve them will inherit his vast fortune—and control of the OASIS itself.

Then Wade cracks the first clue. Suddenly he’s beset by rivals who’ll kill to take this prize. The race is on—and the only way to survive is to win.

I love this book so much. As soon as I finished it, I knew I needed to watch the movie. Read the book about 10 to 15 times. Second book was great also. Mr Cline, is it ok if you can make Anorak’s Almanac come to life. I love the 80’s. I am even watching Family Ties. Really great show. I am sure lots of people who are a fan of Ready Player One will really like it. Thank you for your time, And peace☯️

This was one of my favorite book’s growing up, and after rereading it, it’s still one of my favorite books. If you grew up playing videogames, watching sitcoms, sci-fi movies, anime, and anything related… if you’re a geek, this book will take you on an epic adventure that will fire you up on nostalgia like no other. The author references tons of games, shows, movies, and even songs that really place you right in the fantasy world alongside the protagonists. It’s also so fun to dive in while reading when you can play the songs referenced during certain parts! This book has a permanent place in my library for sure.

I really enjoyed this book. The writing style and amount of references used might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I thought the tea was delicious. Sad, wholesome, exhilarating, this book covered all the bases.

Good very detailed and for someone not as well aquatinted w the verse, I was able to read/skim he bits I didn’t understand while still getting the full gist of the story.

Is it a Mary Jane? Kinda. Even so: If you’re GenX or a young 80s kid, this story is a must read…then let it go. Wish I could say RP2 is a great follow-up, but it misses the mark.

First few chapters really sucked me in, but there’s no character development, way too many references and the story gets repetitive after they clear the first gate as the challenges for the 2nd and 3rd are pretty much the same. It’s such a boring and lazing writing and It got so cringy at the end, that I had to force myself to finish reading last few chapters. If I could travel back in time, I’d skip this book.
