Description

"Bellefleur has a droll, distinct voice, and her one-liners zing off the page, striking both the heart and funny bone... There's a sparkling quality here, one that mirrors the starry title. Bellefleur writes as if she's captured fairy lights in a mason jar, twinkly and lovely within something solid yet fragile." — Entertainment Weekly

Following Written in the Stars and Hang the Moon, Lambda Literary Award winner and national bestselling author Alexandria Bellefleur pens another steamy queer rom-com about former best friends who might be each other's second chance at love…

Margot Cooper doesn’t do relationships. She tried and it blew up in her face, so in this witty romantic comedy she’ll stick with casual hookups, thank you very much. But now her entire crew has found "the one" and she’s beginning to feel like a fifth wheel. And then fate (the heartless bitch) intervenes. While touring a wedding venue with her engaged friends, Margot comes face-to-face with Olivia Grant—her childhood friend, her first love, her first… well, everything, kicking off a heartfelt second chance romance. It’s been ten years, but the moment they lock eyes, Margot’s cold, dead heart thumps in her chest.

Olivia must be hallucinating. In the decade since she last saw Margot, her life hasn’t gone exactly as planned. At almost thirty, she’s been married... and divorced. However, a wedding planner job in Seattle means a fresh start and a chance to follow her dreams. Never in a million years did she expect her important new client’s Best Woman would be the one that got away.

When a series of unfortunate events leaves Olivia without a place to stay, Margot offers up her spare room—a classic case of forced proximity—because she’s a Very Good Person. Obviously. It has nothing to do with the fact that Olivia is as beautiful as ever and the sparks between them still make Margot tingle. As they navigate their new roommate romance, Margot starts to question her no-strings stance. Olivia is everything she’s ever wanted, but this friends-to-lovers story ended in disaster the first time around. Will history repeat itself or should she count her lucky stars that she gets a second chance with her first love?

I have a hard time reading WLW because to me they usually feel cringey and nothing like what I experience but this book grabbed my soul. I absolutely loved this book and halfway through I knew it would become one of my favorites of all time. Her writing is so exquisite and the small details add so much. It is sad however. Its so good but sad and perfect. Read it. Its worth it.

I accidentally read Alexandria Bellefleur’s “Written in the Stars” series backwards…So CYLS was the first book of hers I’d ever read, and it’s been my favorite book ever since. The friend group dynamic is fully formed and adorable in this 3rd installment of the series, and the “friends to lovers” and “forced close proximity” tropes are so well written and thought out that they don’t come off as cliche or all that predictable. I’ve read this book a few times and it’s just always entertaining. Alexandria’s 🌶️ scenes and dialogue both flow beautifully and are relatable and realistic. The importance of including and celebrating the queerness of all of her characters is obvious in this series and particularly this book. I can’t wait to read this author’s future work.❤️

I’m so glad I stumbled upon this story! Old friends-to-lovers is one of my favorite tropes and I feel like it was done so well here. The building tension was insane and the spice. 🥵 the ending dragged just a little bit for ,e, but overall this was a super fun read and I definitely recommend it! I’m going to have to go back and read the other two now!

A perfect installment in Bellefleur’s line of contemporary romance novels. Every love story she tells catches my breathe and this is no exception. Written in the same universe and Written in the Stars and Hang the Moon, I felt a privileged warmth to witness beloved characters show up with intertwined happy ever afters. Not to say CYLS didn’t have its own story to tell- Margot is a force to be reckoned with and I felt myself cheering for Olivia every step of the way as she broke down her barriers and challenged her fears with passion and wit. Hilarious dialogue, steamy embraces, and details so personal to the characters you feel like you must’ve known them in a past life. Count Your Lucky Stars is an absolute delight.

Such a great ending to the trilogy. Would love to read more about these characters in the future. But the ending is satisfying. More would just be too much. This is perfect.

Alexandria Bellefleur is an amazing author. Alexandria’s stories are witty, funny, and charming. You will fall in love with ALL the characters in the story and you end up wanting so much more. I really hope to see more work from this author. If you haven’t already read the other works, I suggest you do. I stumbled upon “Written in the Stars” back in November, quickly bought “Hang the Moon”, and was anxiously awaiting for “Count your Lucky Stars”.
