Description

Take a darkly mesmerizing dive into a haunted past in this nerve-jangling standalone thriller for fans of Freida McFadden, Karin Slaughter, and B.A. Paris.

Twenty years after accidentally killing her brother in a teenage game that went horribly wrong, a woman realizes nothing can be trusted—especially her own memory . . .

There are people in her claustrophobically small hometown in the Pacific Northwest who think that twenty years ago, Rachel Gaston got away with murder when she mistook a real gun for a toy. Or did she?

Now, as the anniversary of Luke’s accidental death approaches, Rachel must find the truth… before it finds her. But as Rachel confronts old memories, she feels her imagination playing tricks on her, convincing her that objects in her house have moved. That there’s a hint of unfamiliar cologne in the air. That someone is tailing her car. Watching her home. Sending her messages... Is the past haunting her? Or is it hunting her?

Cade knows his ex is highly strung. Rachel’s anxiety played a part in their split, though Cade takes his share of the blame too. Yet maybe this time, she’s right to be scared. And as connections surface between a new string of murders and Luke’s death, Rachel realizes that the truth is darker than her worst fears . . .

Good, editing needs major help. Misspelled words show lack of effort. Technology is great but c’mon with the high advancements of today, there should be no errors.

WOW! Thanks for a wonderful mystery with sooo many twists and possible suspects. Just had to keep on reading. I’d like to give 4.5 stars; five if proofreading had been a little bit better (I’m a stickler for grammar).

Terrible plot. Terrible writing. Terrible characters. I wish I could get the time back.
