Description

How do you save your child from the darkness inside them—when it's already too late?
One rainy night, Jennifer Hanson comes home to a nightmare she can never unsee: her twelve-year-old son, Shane, is stabbing their family cat to death. For years, Jennifer has feared Shane’s coldness, the way he’s been since “that accident” that killed his father—a tragedy everyone calls a fluke. But now, it’s clear: something is broken inside him. Something is growing.
As her son shifts from troubled to terrifying, Jennifer is desperate to believe he can be saved. But when she discovers shocking photos of a dead girl on Shane’s phone—a girl the whole town thought died by misfortune—Jennifer must face what no mother wants to admit. How do you stop a child who was born evil?
WARNING: This is a pitch-black psychological thriller exploring the most unsettling corners of parental fear. If you prefer lighter suspense or steer clear of disturbing fiction, this one is not for you. .
* No sex. Minimal on-the-page violence, but explicit dark themes throughout. .
* First in the Evil Trilogy—readable as a standalone.

This book is amazing. The beginning is good but a little boring but it gets better the more you read, also the book is the right amount of predictable and it gets you thinking about what will happen next I give it a 10/10 would recommend 😁🤓

Pretty good. Didn’t see the twist coming so that’s a good thing.

Actually, it’s not easy rating this book because i don’t want to give anything away. Enjoyed the read very much. The writing style fit perfectly with the story. I can say that the ending gave me a “psycho” moment, (the skeleton in the rocking chair.

I wasn’t shocked by the ending. I figured what was coming when it switched to the son’s thoughts but I still enjoyed it

Trite and predictable with every cliche known to pop psychology. The author used parts of multiple movies and novels. For good measure, Dr Phil is part of the author’s sources. Apparently, this author has no knowledge of current psychological research or evidence based treatment. Read the first chapter and the last if you can tolerate the poor writing style and multiple errors. It would be even better to skip it entirely save the boredom. Many people publish on line. The majority are very poor writers with no imagination and very weak skills. Similar to the self promoting Instagram stars and models.

First half of book is slow and boring. Plot twist in the middle makes no sense. Didn’t take long to see the way the plot was heading. Should have given up reading this book long before I did. At least it was free.
