I particularly liked this Beachwood Bay story of Tegan and Ryland! All of the series is great!
  • It had potential…

I wanted to like this so much. It had potential, but there were so many plot holes and typos and grammatical errors and things that just didn’t make any sense! It was so frustrating. And then….it was just up and over. Sheesh. Oh well, you can’t knock it out of the park every time. I have read many of Melody’s books and I usually like them. They have all been following a very similar pattern, though so I’m taking a break from this author. Someone in editing needs to pay more attention. Thank goodness my imagination could fill in the gaps. I’m really not a “hater” and I appreciate all the hard work that goes into writing. Keep writing Melody, but maybe slow down a little and get all the details right before you say “the end” and move onto the next story.

First half of the book explores the aftermath of suicide on those left behind in an very realistic way. Then there is a sudden shift into gratuitous sex scenes and then to an improbable kidnapping. Needs better editing and smoother transitioning.

  • Another entertaining book in the series

This is another good edition to the Beachwood Bay series. Not quite as emotionally devastating as the previous entries and the ending is a little to quick and pat. But I still recommend it along with all the rest of the books in this series. Now I'm on to Unexpectedly Yours featuring two barely mentioned side characters from the series.

4.5 stars Tegan Callahan has come to Beachwood to get away from it all and just be by herself for a while. She has had a rough patch and needs to reevaluate things. She has a rock star and a movie star for brothers. She has had a pretty cushy life, but she has also seen tragedy head on. After experiencing loss, she needs to reclaim herself. She feels Beachwood Bay is the best place to do this. Away from her brothers and at the beach. Then there is Ryland James. He is Beachwood's prodigal son. He has been away for a long time, 7 whole years, Now he realizes he misses his family and wants to head home to make things work with them. No one knows why he has been gone so long and where we has been. Ryand has kept his life under the radar. He has secrets he doesn't want his brother and sister to know about. Things that are better kept secret. Things between Ryland and Tegan get hot and heavy quickly. I mean sizzling. Neither of them know where this is going to end up, both having secrets. Secrets they do not even want to share with each other. Neither wants to fall in love, or maybe they really do. Teagan has her heart protected. She is afraid to let anyone too close. Her heart is just starting to mend. Ryalnd on the other hand, has never even had a girlfriend. He is never wanted one and is not too sure how to even be in a relationship. I love this series by Melody. I can't stop getting giddy when I see a new one coming out. I hope there are many more, cause I am a huge fan!
